Project 2025 is a federal policy blueprint created by the Heritage Foundation. The Center for American Progress said that if this project is implemented, the United States would become unrecognizably autocratic. So what exactly will it do?

The policy packet advocates four main objectives: (1) "Restore the family as the centerpiece of American life", (2) "Dismantle the administrative state", (3) "Defend our nation's sovereignty", and (4) "Secure our God-given individual rights to live freely". The Project includes proposals to increase the power of the President, decrease the power of agencies, limit abortion access and disability care, give parents greater control over their children's public education, and decrease federal spending on green energy investments.

Ultimately, whether you consider these policies controversial or not, they invite fundamental questions about the American experiment: How insulated should agencies be from the will of the people? How much power should the President have over congressional spending? What role should the federal government play in shaping families? How much power should parents have over public education? When should the federal government limit state power to ensure the equal protection of its citizens?
